Education & training courses at Lijmacademie
The first step toward better and more predictable results in industrial adhesive processes is ensuring the right knowledge is in place. At Lijmacademie, you’ll find hands-on training, short courses, and internationally recognized EWF/NIL programs developed by Fraunhofer IFAM. This ensures that operators, supervisors, and engineers have the knowledge and certification required by today’s quality systems.
While many suppliers offer only product-focused training, Lijmacademie provides European-certified personal qualifications. This means you and your team are not only capable of executing adhesive processes safely and correctly, but also of substantiating, improving, and optimizing them with certifications recognized worldwide.

What we do
European recognized training courses in adhesive technology
"Qualification is essential in industrial adhesive processes: only with an EWF certificate can you demonstrate compliance with international quality standards. As the exclusive partner of Fraunhofer IFAM, Lijmacademie is the sole provider of these European-certified programs in the Netherlands and Belgium. This enables participants to meet the requirements of suppliers and QA/QC systems in sectors such as high-tech and mechanical engineering.
The courses vary in duration and intensity, from compact 40-hour courses to in-depth 332-hour programs. Each training program is tailored to a specific role, from hands-on professionals to lead engineers. Below you’ll find the full overview:
40 hours - compact and practice-oriented. Ideal for operators who need to demonstrate safe and correct adhesive application.
120 hours - in-depth and technically comprehensive. Designed for supervisors and technicians who evaluate adhesive processes and drive improvements.
332 hours – intensive and at an academic level. The highest qualification for engineers who substantiate designs, analyze risks, and optimize processes.

Training as an investment in process quality
An adhesive process is a special process: final quality cannot be fully verified afterwards, but must be ensured during execution. This means that well-trained personnel make the difference between reliable bonds and costly failures.
With Lijmacademie's European-certified programs, you have demonstrably qualified professionals: from the operator handling daily bonding tasks to the engineer validating the design. These qualifications are recognized within international quality systems and provide assurance during audits, supplier evaluations, and customer projects.
The result: fewer rejects, lower failure costs and processes that are both predictable and reproducible. Training is therefore not just an investment in knowledge, but in the overall quality and reliability of your production.
Frequently asked questions about the training center
How does training help reduce failure costs?
By preventing errors in design and execution. Qualified employees recognize risks earlier and ensure predictable, reproducible connections.
What is the difference between a diploma and a certificate of attendance?
A certificate of attendance only shows that you were present. A diploma, issued by an independent third party (NIL or BVL) and recognized by the EWF, proves that you were actually examined and qualified according to international standards. This diploma is valid for life.
Is the certification granted to the individual or the company?
The certificate is issued to the individual. This means you can take it with you to a future employer, while your current organization benefits from your qualification as long as you work there.
Why are you collaborating with Fraunhofer IFAM?
Because Fraunhofer IFAM is a global leader in adhesive technology. Their programs form the foundation of our courses, ensuring you receive the most up-to-date and scientifically validated knowledge available.
Where do the trainings take place?
Most training courses are held at the training center of Lijmacademie in Gilze-Rijen, equipped with a full laboratory. However, we also offer training in Belgiumand in-company course. In-company is a training at your location and is available upon request.
